Learning chemistry from scratch (Discussion)

I’ve completely forgotten everything from Chemistry in high school. I don’t think I even took Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry. Where should I begin if I want to start learning?

High schools always start from talking about atoms, so looking at my atomic theory lessons can’t hurt. Then they talk about compounds and elements and all sort of chemicals and properties.

My advice would be to simply look at everyday things that seem interesting. Like, one day you may wonder, why are snow flakes pretty, or how do CDs work, or something like that. Then just look it up, and you’ll find that explanations will usually introduce you to concepts in chemistry, physics, or other branches of science. That way you’ll both enjoy learning things that interest you, and get reconnected with science!

(Or just watch a few Bill Nye the Science Guy videos. A great way to pass a slow weekend!)
